Dear Readers, first of all, I sincerely wish you a beautiful Christmas with your loved ones. What do I mean by ‘beautiful’? Well, I mean Christmas the way it is perfect for you, the traditions that you embody every year, the cookies you bake, the music you sing audaciously with your family and friends and maybe even the hot chocolate or wine you slurp as you laugh over a jaunty Christmas movie.
It is that time of year in which glee is fused with the urge to envision and plan the next year. Man, can that be a rollercoaster of emotions: what do I give priority to? How do I want to start my year while not missing out on the greatness and beauties of these days?
For me personally, it has been an incredibly busy year; I have achieved an enormous amount of goals and visions, grown into an independence, and restlessly worked on improving the person I am and delivering to the world the best of my craft.
What I want to say with these words is that no matter what goals or visions you set for yourself, the life you seek to live and embrace fully, make sure not to lose track of yourself. Your inner child that dreams boundlessly unchained by any restricting beliefs. The one who had no doubt that what one strives to become and be will turn into their reality. The child who finds joy in the simplest of occurrences and moments; The butterfly that salutes you on early mornings, the rain that soaks you up until your feet and the clown you are infront of a camera roll and the sincerity with which you hug your dearest.
Life is an endless roller-coaster of obstacles, lessons, winters, springs, summers, and autumns. It’s not easy. But what if you and I would choose to live from this very core, the child you once were, we who are born genius and act from that very place deep inside our heart and soul?
As I slowly grow into adulthood, this year, more than ever, I have realized the value of reconnecting with your inner child. To call him/her out back into life. To live with an untamable mindset of creativity and certainty in that what we do.
Exactly this is my strongest wish to you this Christmas and as you step into the new year. Look back from where you came from, not just where you are going. You crawled until you knew how to walk, you scribbled until you learned how to draw in the lines, and you hummed before you could speak out the words you wished to express to sing along with your favourite. It all started with that small genius, audacious, vigorous and jaunty you.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and a Happy New Year.

Kayleen.
